Alfa Romeo has sought to develop unique ways to influence performance in each design element.

Cars like the Alfa Romeo Giulia offer a breath of fresh air in the new car market. It’s for sale in the compact executive saloon sector, and whether you choose an entry Sprint model, a sporty Veloce version or the Quadrifoglio super saloon, it’s a great alternative to the mainstream executive norm.

2022 ALFA ROMEO GIULIA Available advanced driver safety assist features like our LaneSense® Lane Keep Assist( Disclosure6), Active Blind Spot Assist( Disclosure7), and Highway and Traffic Jam Assist( Disclosure8) help give drivers reassured confidence behind the wheel.

Inside, the Giulia continues to turn on the style, although build quality isn’t quite to the same level that you’ll find in one of the Alfa’s German counterparts. However, for most people it’ll be perfectly fine, especially if they make the most of the front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and the sporty handling it delivers.

The top-spec Quadrifoglio uses a 503bhp 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 which features developments by Ferrari

The same engine’s also available with 280hp. Performance is very impressive – 0-62mph takes just 5.2 seconds as it spears onto a top speed of 149mph. It has enough mid-range grunt to overtake slower traffic without having to be thrashed, but pushing it to its limit is worth it simply to savour the exhaust’s growl, and official fuel economy of 46.3mpg is nothing to be ashamed of. This more powerful 2.0-litre is only available with Veloce trim, which comes with more powerful brakes and also the gearbox’s lovely metal paddle shifters as standard.
